IV.8 Does a national professional organisation for public prosecutors exist?

In the Netherlands a professional organisation for members of the judiciary does exist. This organisation is an independent professional organisation and a trade union both for judges and public prosecutors. The association negotiates with the Minister of Justice about the labour conditions of its members.
Furthermore, the association enhances the independence and quality of the administration of justice and the confidence of the public at large in the judiciary. The association is an advisor of the Minister of Justice in matters of law reform. The association is member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP). Almost all public prosecutors are member of the association.
