III.1 Does the prosecution service have the same independent position as the judiciary?
Yes. ‘The prosecutor’s office is a state institution performing the functions
established by the Constitution of the Republic, this Law or other laws. The
prosecutor’s office helps to ensure lawfulness and assists courts in the
administration of justice’ (sect. 2 Law on the Prosecutor’s Office).
