IV.7 Can a public prosecutor join a professional organisation?
Yes, to be eligible for appointment the DPP must be
a practising barrister or solicitor at the time of his or her appointment. This
means that he must be a member of the Kings Inns (professional association of
barrister) or a member of the Law Society of Ireland (professional association
for solicitors).
