I.11 In which cases?

In all cases the district prosecutors may indeed be involved in the police investigation process from its very commencement. As far as preliminary police inquiries are concerned, the judicial police officers carry out preliminary police inquiries either on the instructions of the district prosecutor, or at their own initiative (sect. 75 CCP). Where the enquiry is being carried out at their own initiative, the judicial police officers give the district prosecutor an account of its progress where it has been running for more than six months (sect. 75-1 CCP).
