III.15 Who appoints the public prosecutor?

The King (Queen) appoints the Attorney General, the regional prosecutors, the chief constables, the deputy chief constables, and the assistant chief constables first grade (see for the grades Tasks and Powers, p. 79-80). Civil servants appointed by the King enjoy a special protection against transfer not applied for (sect. 27 Constitution). In practice the Minister of Justice countersigns the letter of appointment.
