II.2 In this respect, what is the contribution of the prosecution service?
The four Austrian senior public prosecutor’s
offices as well as the attorney general’s office have to submit annual reports
on their perception of the actual state and operation of the criminal justice
system as well as on deficiencies in legislation to the Minister of Justice. In
these reports also suggestions for improvement shall be and are made.
Moreover, the public prosecution service always is invited to give their opinion on concrete draft legislation concerning the criminal justice system.
