I.14 Does the prosecution service have the power to decide on the scope of the police investigation?

Within the limits given by the principle of legality the public prosecutor may restrict investigations, that means set the focus on specific inquiries. The public prosecutor may (must) as well extend police investigations. As mentioned above, in practice, however, the active/direct involvement of the prosecutor rather remains the exception.
